CHEMAINUS LODGE HONOURS & AWARDS
Chemainus Lodge, through the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon, honours its members by awarding worthy Brehren with awards for their continued service and dedication to the craft.
Masonic Medal of Merit
Grand Lodge brings to us the opportunity to recognize worthy Brethren who have not been installed Masters and who exemplify the General Charge in every way, be it within the walls of their Lodge or elsewhere in their daily lives. When you see a member who is known as someone a Lodge can always count on; who may or may not be a ritualist; who attends regularly; who coaches candidates; who assists where able; who is favourably acknowledged as a positive role model within his family/ community/vocation; who completes the task not for himself, but for the cause of good towards the Lodge and all mankind; but who has not been installed into the chair of King Solomon, think about the Masonic Medal of Merit and take the time to consider completing a nomination for this award. There are many other worthy members in this jurisdiction who qualify for the prestigious Masonic Medal of Merit. All it takes is for someone to take the time and effort to submit a nomination form for consideration by this Committee.
The above was paraphrased from an article written on Masonic Medal of Merit Awards by MW Bro. Calvin D. Shaver
Chemainus Lodge has had 3 receipients of the Masonic Medal of Merit (as of June 2015), the first was presented to Bro. Alan Whitaker (prior to him becoming Worshipful Master), the second to Bro. John Tolman and the most recent presented to Bro. Terrance Landry.
